Jeffree Star Holiday Collection

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!
Today I'm going to quickly show you the two Velour Liquid Lipsticks I picked up from the Jeffree Star Holiday Collection. If you're unfamiliar with Jeffree, he's a makeup artist and YouTube personality who started his own brand two years ago. (Side note: there has been loads of drama surrounding Jeffree and his brand lately, lots of people have very strong opinions of him. Personally, I enjoy his videos and find him entertaining, but this post will be entirely focused on the makeup).
Jeffree recently released 7 shades of his Velour Liquid Lipsticks in the 2016 Holiday Collection, of which I have two. This was my first time trying anything from the brand, I just found these shades too hard to resist. And honestly, I could have bought almost all of the collection.

The first is Sagittarius, a gorgeous mauve shade. You can see this one in action here.

The second is Pumpkin Pie, a rich burnt orange shade with tiny shimmer particles that you cannot feel on the lips.

The Holiday Collection packaging is beautiful, a gorgeous cherry red with rose gold stars. The standard brand packaging is bright pink. It feels really sturdy and luxurious, with a cap that locks tight. The doe foot wand is curved to fit the shape of the lips really well.
The formula is incredibly thin and light, much more so than any of the other brands I've tried. The pigment is unbelievable, one dip does both lips comfortably. They are by far the most comfortable matte liquid lipsticks I've ever tried, and they literally last all on me. I almost forget that I'm wearing them.  I adore both of the shades, they're very wearable. Sagittarius has turned into a daily staple, and Pumpkin Pie is a softer alternative to a red lipstick. The trouble is, I want more shades. Jeffree has nailed the liquid lipstick formula!
Merry Christmas, my friends.

Hello my friends! How's your December going?
I'm really into pretty mauve tones lately, they just look so ladylike! I think my obsession was sparked by Jeffree Star's Velour Liquid Lipstick in the shade Sagittarius, it's part of his Holiday 2016 collection. Such a beautiful mauve shade that I just adore. I think this one will be a permanent fixture in my handbag.

My Fast Autumn Makeup

Lately I've been finding myself with less and less time to get ready in the morning (#mumlife) and when that's the case I have a go-to makeup look that's fast and foolproof. Two matte eye shadows, no liner, natural foundation. The only thing I change up regularly is my lip colour, I mostly wear nudes, but I've introduced a few more Autumn appropriate shades this past couple of weeks. I stick to products that I know work well for me, tried and tested.

Mac Nutcracker Sweet Copper Face Palette

There was a time when I would get excited about every new Mac Cosmetics collection, but these days it doesn't happen often. However, once in a while a special one launches. Enter the 2016 holiday collection, Nutcracker Sweet. This is a beautiful collection as a whole, including the usual gift kits, but my eyes went right to the face palettes. There are two, Peach and Copper, and I'm going to show you the Copper palette.

Isn't she lovely?! And that highlighter? It's the one and only Whisper of Gilt. *Pause for reaction*
Mac finally brought back the limited edition cult favourite, and I guarantee that this palette will sell out really fast as a result. The hype is justified, it's a stunning metallic light gold highlighter without even a speck of glitter or shimmer. Now that I've own it, I have a 100% perfect dupe. I've swatched them side by side and this is the same in every way. Handy to know, since Whisper of Gilt is limited edition.
I was a bit concerned that the blush in the palette (Pleasure Model) would be too dark for my skin tone, but I'm literally obsessed with it. I'm not much of a blush person, I often just wear bronzer and highlighter, skipping blush completely. I'm not really into pink or coral colours on my cheeks. This blush applied with a fluffy brush livens up my complexion like no other. I can't believe the difference it makes! It's wonderful.

This palette is an absolute delight, but if you want it you'd better move fast. The holiday collection launches in U.K. stores today. Go!

Kristen Stewart Inspired Makeup

I recently saw the latest Chanel makeup campaign featuring Kristen Stewart and was totally captivated by her beautiful makeup in the photos. Kristen rocks a grungy makeup look like no other, and it always still manages to look glamorous. Today I've got for you a makeup look that was inspired by Kristen's plummy brown smokey eye and red lip combo, and I love how it turned out. This is the easiest eye look in the world if you want to look glam without too much effort or too much blending. Her grungy makeup is never perfect, but that adds to the overall effect. It's perfect for Autum/ Winter.

September & October Favourites

Hello my friends! Happy Sunday. I haven't done a favourites post in quite a while, so I thought I'd show you my favourite makeup and beauty items for the past couple of months. I went to the US in August, so quite a few of my favourite things were picked up on my trip.
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base
This is a lovely rich moisturiser that was designed to sit nicely under makeup, creating the perfect base without leaving any greasy residue. It sinks into the skin completely, leaving it feeling fresh and ready for makeup. Plus is smells heavenly. The tiniest bit goes such a long way, so one pot lasts me months.
Beauty Blender
This is a staple in probably everybody's makeup routine, in my opinion it's a game changer. If you haven't tried blending out your foundation and concealer with a damp beauty sponge, you need to sort that out right now! I've tried lots of so called dupes, but I prefer the original Beauty Blender by far. I also thing the Blender Cleanser soap is great.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation
You know how it is, with a constant influx of new foundations to try, old favourites can often be forgotten for a time. That's what happened with this one for a few months, but I picked it back up and remembered just how good it is. Medium coverage that looks like skin and lasts really well. It makes me look quite fresh and awake, which I'm very grateful for!
Milani Conceal & Perfect Foundation
This is one of my US drugstore purchases, and I've really been enjoying it. It's a medium to full coverage foundation with a thick consistency that I find blends best with a Beauty Blender. It has great lasting power and doesn't look too heavy on my skin. Definitely worth a try if you haven't already.
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
I looked for this at the drugstore after hearing such good things about it, and I wasn't disappointed. It's a beautiful shade, not too warm, not too cool. It's perfect on my NC20 skin, and blends out effortlessly.  It's heavily scented though, so if fragranced makeup bothers you, I'd avoid this product. However, it has that tropical holiday scent that so many of us love, and I quite enjoy it. The product itself is fantastic, especially if you often find that bronzers can look too orange on you. This one might be what you've been looking for.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
I won't talk about this for long, I already swatched and reviewed it in another post. Suffice to say I'm still loving it. I've heard that it's being restocked on some sites, so grab it if you see it. It's wonderful.
Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser (Brightener)
We have this product in the U.K, but not the full range of shades. I managed to get the brightening shade in the US, it's a very pale pink that works in conjunction with my usual completely brighten my under eye area. It works so well.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara
Before my trip to Florida I almost never wore waterproof mascara, but I picked one up to stay on in the humidity. Now I'm completely converted, and feel like regular mascara smudges far too quickly. Plus, I often get asked what false lashes I'm wearing, and it's just this mascara. It gives volume and length, and is really cheap. Winner.
Kat Von D Trooper Tattoo Liner
The best liquid liner I've ever used. Extremely black, waterproof and easy to use. I have multiple back ups.

Kat Von D Lock-it Setting Powder

For years and years I searched for a concealer that wouldn't crease under my eyes, to no avail. However, once I started setting my concealer with loose translucent powder, I never looked back. I realised that as long as I set it, pretty much any concealer will hold up. The latest one I have tried is Kat Von D's Lock-it Setting Powder.

Firstly, the packaging is as cool as the rest of the Kat Von D makeup range. It's sturdy, and the star shaped sifter doesn't let too much product out at once.

The powder itself is SO silky and finely milled, making it perfect for the under eye area. It doesn't ever look heavy or cakey. It has a brightening quality that lasts all day long, and I love that.

If you're someone who likes to set, or 'bake', your concealer, this product is a solid choice.

I got mine at Debenhams for £20.

Review: Anastasia Beverly Hills Sundipped Glow Kit

Hello everyone. Today I've got for you a closer look and swatches of the gorgeous Anastasia Beverly Hills Sundipped Glow Kit. ABH is definitely one of my favourite brands, particularly the palettes, and her ever popular Glow Kits are just as wonderful.

In the Glow Kit you get four powder highlighters of the most beautiful, buttery texture. As you can see from the swatches, they look much darker in the pan than they do when applied. They're metallic on the skin, and give that gorgeous intense highlight that I love. The quality is great, and they last all day on the skin.
In terms of value for money, I think the Glow Kits are fantastic. I got mine at Sephora for around $42 dollars, whereas one Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector costs $38.
Some of the ABH Glow Kits have been limited edition, but I have just seen on Norvina's Twitter page  that Sundipped is now a permanent part of the line.

If you love to highlight, you're going to love this. Cult Beauty and Beauty Bay both sell ABH,

Review: Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops

Believe me when I say, I hunted for this product. I'm a highlighter junkie, and Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops was hailed as the best highlighter ever, so you know I had to try it. However, it sold out in no time at all, in the UK and USA, so Sephora couldn't help me. I finally got an email from Rose's Beauty Store  to say it was in stock a few weeks ago, and it was finally mine. I chose the shade Moonlight.

Okay, so let me explain what it is. The Custom Enhancer Drops are liquid highlighting drops that add luminosity to the skin, and can be used in a few ways. Added into your foundation or primer, or applied on top of foundation to the cheekbones and the high points of the face.

They are seriously intense and metallic, and create the most beautiful highlight I've ever seen. The tiniest bit goes such a long way, so I feel like they'll last forever. They dry quickly, so don't leave them on the back of your hand for long, and set to a light powdery finish. They don't interfere with the makeup underneath, like some liquid or cream highlighters can.

The shade Moonlight is the perfect champagne colour, not too warm, not too cool. Metallic rather than shimmery, I wear it day or night.
Stock is in and out, so if you love an intense highlight and see this product in stock, grab it. Run, don't walk.

Review: L'Oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation

Happy hump day, everyone! I've got a new foundation review for you today. I picked up L'Oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation in the US recently after hearing lots of positive reviews. I'm a fan of the Pro Matte version, so I had high hopes for the Pro Glow.

This foundation has a liquid texture that blends effortlessly. It feels quite light on the skin, and sets with a radiant finish. It doesn't look too shiny or greasy, and I have slightly oily skin. I wore it all day long at Disney World, as it has SPF 15, and it lasted surprisingly well. At home in the UK and away from the UNBELIEVABLE humidity of Florida, it lasts all day without breaking down.

Overall, this is a good foundation for anyone who enjoys a natural dewy finish. It's recommended for normal to dry skin, but also works fine on my normal to oily complexion. I think it's definitely worth a go.

I haven't been able to find a UK release date yet, but it's usually not TOO many months after the US one. Keep your eyes peeled whenever you're near a L'Oreal counter.
I got mine from CVS  for $12.99/
