Must-Have Drugstore Highlighter

Alert the media. I've found a highstreet highlighter that is comparable to high end products! Sleek Solstice Highlighting palette.

This palette contains three highlighters; three powders and one cream. All four are lovely, but the peach-toned one in the bottom right corner (Equinox) is PHENOMENAL. The texture reminds me of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors, creamy and almost wet-look, without a single speck of glitter. If, like me, you love a highlight that can be seen from space, this is for you.

The swatches don't even do it justice! I could not stop staring at my hand. And the best part? the entire palette is £9.99. Do yourself a favour and check this out.

Review: Maybelline Superstay 24h Setting Spray

Who doesn't want their makeup to last all day?! Or at least until we decide to remove it. So an affordable setting spray that claims to enables your makeup to last 24 hours (?!) has to be tried.

Maybelline claims that this product extends makeup's wear and fresh look, whilst preventing makeup from dulling and colour fading. Also, it is oil free.

When I first applied the spray after I'd finished my makeup, I could immediately feel that it had set. My face didn't look wet, and my makeup did feel "locked". So far so good. Four hours later, my makeup was still fine. However, I still got quite shiny in my t-zone by mid afternoon, around the same time that it happens every day (my makeup is on by 7.30am FYI). I still felt like I could do with a touch up at that point. By the time 7.30pm had rolled around, my makeup had definitely faded. I could still see my bronzer and highlighter, but it was much duller than it had been at first.

Did this setting spray make a difference? I don't really think so. Perhaps for a few hours, but that's really defeating the object of the product. 24 hour wear? no. Would I repurchase it? probably not.

Do you know of a setting spray that does actually extend the longevity of your makeup?
Let me know!

Review: Urban Decay Beached Bronzer

Urban Decay are absolutely killing it lately! They recently released their Summer collection for 2016, part of which is the Beached Bronzer. Since I absolutely adore the highlighter I picked up from the collection, I wanted to give the bronzer a try.
There are two shades of bronzers in the collection; Bronzed and Sunkissed. I chose Bronzed.

First of all, the packaging is beautiful. The compact is really sleek, so doesn't feel too bulky to put in your handbag. The shade is very slightly warm, but is very much suitable for my fair skin. The finely milled, silky smooth texture makes it a dream to blend, so it never looks muddy or patchy. I apply it to the areas which the sun would naturally hit; my cheekbones, the outer edges of my forehead, and a very light sweeping across my nose. It brings my face to life! I really do look healthier, like I've been out in the sun. It adds definition and shape to my face in a natural way.

Along with Sin highlighter, this bronzer will be a staple in my Spring/ Summer makeup routine. I highly recommend you try it!

Review: Diorskin Forever Foundation

If you're anything like me, you're always on the hunt for an even better foundation. Something that tops even your most favourite one. After hearing some good comments recently, I decided to pick up a sample of Diorskin Forever Foundation.
(As I only had a sample, I couldn't photograph the bottle for you)

It's a liquid foundation that gives me a natural matte finish. It has a really light texture, that almost looks like I'm not wearing any foundation! It looks and feels so natural, yet covers well, I'd say it gives around a medium coverage, and it doesn't transfer or oxidize. I'm wearing the shade 012.

The lasting power surprised me, all day long! It didn't break down at all, didn't look cakey like foundations often do towards the end of the day. I'm a little bit in love with it! I'll definitely be buying the full bottle.

Have you tried it?

March Favourites

Happy April! I haven't done a favourites post for a few months, so here are the things I've been loving throughout March.

Nyx Wanderlust Baked Blush

This is the prettiest peachy pink blush with a subtle sheen to it that isn't at all glittery. It's just pigmented enough and really seems to brighten up the face. Lovely for Spring, and it cost me £4! Thank you ASOS.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

I've raved about this before, so I won't go on too much now. I just had to mention it again, it's my all time favourite foundation. You can read my review of it here.

Topshop Smoke Stick "Fool's Gold"

This is a very dark brownish/ antique gold shade in a VERY long wearing formula. I like to draw it along my lash line, then blend it up into the crease with a lighter matte shade. It makes for the easiest smoky eye in the world.

In the same way. I've also enjoyed using Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil "French Fries". This one is a little more bronzey, but creates the same effect when blended out.

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

An oldie but a goldie. I've used lots of high end mascaras, but this is just better. It makes my lashes look their absolute best.

Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter "Sin"

This highlighter is WONDERFUL. Go and swatch it immediately. My full review can be read here.
