Kylie Jenner Inspired Look

Happy Sunday, everyone! Today I did a makeup look that is right up my street, inspired by a photo of Kylie Jenner. A simple matte smoky eye with a matte nude lip, I just love it.

I'd better show you the photo that inspired me!

I found this on Google Images

And here are the products I used to achieve a similar look.

Base
Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation (Gobi)
NYX HD Concealer (01)
NYX HD Studio Powder

Brows
Benefit Gimme Brow (4)

Eyes
Mac Quite Natural Paint Pot (all over lid as base)
Benefit Hoola Bronzer (crease)
Makeup Geek Americano (lid and lower lash line)
Mac Smolder Eye Kohl  (upper lash line smoked out)
Mac Coffee Eye Pencil (water line)
Mac Nylon (inner corner)
Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara

Cheeks
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Kiko 208 Water Shadow (as highlight)

Lips
Mac Stripdown Liner (fill in entire lips)
Mac Honeylove lipstick

Kylie always wears lashes, so this look could be glammed up even further by adding falsies. I just this combo, it's so wearable yet glam. It doesn't look like you've tried too hard, but you've got it together, you know? A good balance.

What's your go-to makeup look?

Review: Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

Another day, another foundation review. This time we have a long wearing foundation from Nars that claims to be weightless and luminous. Sounds too good to be true, don't you think? Well, I've seriously put this one to the test.

Side note: I hate how dirty Nars packaging gets.
Okay, let me give you the facts.
First of all, it comes with a pump, so you do not have to purchase one separately (I'm looking at you, Sheer Glow). The colour range matches up to Sheer Glow, so if you know your shade in that, you know your shade in this one. I'm between Gobi and Fiji, depending on my tan (or lack thereof).

The formula is very runny and thin, yet the coverage is INSANE. With just a few drops I can cover my entire face, evening out my skin tone and covering any redness. It feels almost powdery, not particularly glowy. It actually DOES feel weightless, almost like I'm not wearing foundation.

On my slightly oily skin, it lasts a good 8 hours, but I may need to powder my t-zone slightly once during the day. It doesn't break down, but it does cling to any little dry patches you may have.

I think if your skin is normal to oily, and you're looking for a long wearing, high coverage foundation, you'd enjoy this one. As a little goes such a long way, this bottle will last you months. Also, it never feels cakey.
Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation is available here and costs £32.

My Mac Pro Palette

Mac recently launched their Pro Palettes, which are essentially empty magnetic palettes to be filled with refill pans of shadows or blushes. Mac's take on the Z Palette, basically. They're really handy for keeping your most used shadows together in one travel-friendly palette. Mine has become an essential part of my freelance kit. I have the medium size with currently 9 shadows inside, and there's plenty of space for more. I'm going to swatch each shadow for you now. Oh, and excuse the powdery appearance of my palette, it is very well loved.

Mac Satin Taupe
This is an almost metallic shadow in a taupe/silver/pewter shade. Really pretty and universally flattering. It's sultry without being too dramatic, and I particularly love wearing this one in Autumn/Winter.

Mac Swiss Chocolate
This is a muted reddish brown in a matte finish. It's just warm enough, a lovely addition to a smokey eye. I use this on clients every week.

Makeup Geek Peach Smoothie
This matte pale peach shadow seems to be a makeup artist staple the world over, the perfect transition colour on a wide range of skin tones. I use this on EVERYONE, including myself.

Mac Nylon
My most used Mac shadow of all time. It's a beautiful white gold that looks incredible in the inner corner of the eye. I really need to get another one, I'm almost out yet again.

Mac Coppering
A true orange copper in the Veluxe Pearl finish. This looks incredible on blue eyes, making them pop, It's a subtle way to incorporate colour.

Mac Brown Script
A warm chesnut brown in my favourite matte finish. It reminds me of Anastasia Beverly Hills Fudge, which is one of my favourite shadows of all time. I mean, who doesn't love a rich warm brown?

Mac Mythology
This is a shimmery rose gold/copper that lots of my clients love.

Makeup Geek Cocoa Bear
I love and adore this one. It creates the most beautiful warm smokey eye, blending beautifully and effortlessly. Another makeup artist staple, I would recommend this shadow to anyone.

Makeup Geek Americano
A cool toned dark brown matte that is gorgeous in the outer v, or to smoke out any eye look.

So there we have it! I have other single shadows in other palettes, but I keep these together because I use them on a daily basis. I'll be adding to my pro palette very soon.

What are your favourite single shadows?
