My Holy Grail Nude Lipstick

I'm not one to use the words Holy Grail lightly, especially when comes to makeup. It takes a lot to achieve HG status. Enter Mac Blankety.

Just to indicate how much I love this lipstick, I have gone from having an average of 10 lip products in my handbag at any one time, to just one. This is actually my second bullet since October when I first bought it. I went through an entire Mac lipstick in less than 12 weeks! That is an absolute first for me. I've only ever used one other Mac lipstick before, Creme Cup, but that took me well over a year.

Blankety is a soft pink beige in the divine Amplified Creme finish, which means it feels incredibly rich and comfortable. It is quite an opaque formula, which I just love. For me, it's the perfect nude and goes with every single makeup look. I've literally worn it every day.

If you haven't already, nip into Mac and swatch Blankety. I have a feeling you'll be glad you did.

Review: Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation

I might be the pickiest person ever when it comes to foundation, very few are ever loved enough to be repurchased. Although I currently adore the Too Faced Born This Way, I'm always on the hunt for absolute perfection. Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation recently caught my eye.
It was the words soft-matte hydrating foundation that really intrigued me. I mean, when is a foundation ever both of those things? I had to find out for myself.
The packaging is a very light squeeze tube, very handy. The texture of the foundation itself is very thick and mousse-like, very similar to that of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation.
In fact, I find the Dream Velvet to be almost identical to the far more expensive Tarte one. It has medium build-able coverage that blends beautifully and doesn't feel too heavy. It leaves my skin feeling really silky soft, not greasy or tacky at all. On my normal to very slightly oily skin, it lasts a good six hours before I might need to powder my t-zone a little bit.
Overall, I'm pretty impressed. A dupe of a hugely popular high-end foundation for a fraction of the price?! Yes, please.
I bought mine at Superdrug for £7.99.
